Today We Jog For Jude

I wrote this poem because Jog for Jude has always held a special place in our hearts. Erin was a SIDS survivor, and because of that, this cause has always felt deeply personal to our family. The Zayacs took unimaginable loss and turned it into hope, awareness, and action And in doing so, they became a source of strength for us, especially when we need it most. This day is about Jude, about stopping SIDS, and about supporting every family walking this road.

Today We Jog for Jude

Today we jog for Jude,

A day that carries purpose and light

To fight for answers, raise awareness,

And help make futures brighter, safer, right.

A day to stand together

And say enough to this heartbreak,

To do all we can to stop SIDS

For every family’s sake.

What Theo and Greg have built

Out of unimaginable pain

Is more than a race or a moment

It’s hope that continues to remain.

They met us in our darkest time,

When the world felt torn apart,

Offering strength, understanding,

And space to hold our broken hearts.

And they still stand beside us now,

A steady, guiding hand

Showing what it means to keep going,

To rise, to love, to stand.

So today is for Jude

For awareness, for change, for a way through,

For every life we can protect,

For every family we can help hold onto.

And quietly, within our steps,

We carry Erin too

Not as the focus of this day,

But in the love that guides us through.

Today we jog for Jude.

For hope. For change.

For all we can do.
